Thousands Lost Power in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Severe Weather Systems
Around twenty-five thousand households in Queensland's southeast woke up without power on Monday morning after powerful weather events passed over the area, generating wind gusts topping 109km/h.
Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Damage
Homeowners witnessed giant hailstones as large as 7cm in particular locations. Weather authorities verified that different parts across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.

Response teams were working to restore energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units deployed to manage the extensive power failures.
Southern State's Weather Woes
At the same time, approximately one thousand households in the southern state also experienced power outages after Melbourne recorded its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams handled nearly 600 requests for assistance across the region, mainly for structural issues but also for downed trees and flooding.

At one point on the previous day, over 28,000 energy customers in Victoria were lacking electricity.
Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were forecast to persist along large portions of eastern Queensland this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
The following day was forecast to be the most rainy day, with continued storm activity expected across multiple regions of both areas.
Medical Alert
Health officials warned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
This caution comes after historical occurrences where similar conditions led to major medical consequences in the area.
